The patriarchal neighbourhood in the Northern part of Bucharest that surrounds this building remained mostly untouched by urban modernization developed after 1945.

The low-rise houses were erected in late 19th century by local craftsmen, and are concealed by generous greenery. In recent years, The Bucurestii Noi (New Bucharest) district became attractive for young middle class families in search of an unconventional and pleasant environment.
The architecture of MCM residential development is centred on the idea of conserving the qualities and the particular flavour of the quarter. The ground floor apartments open to the rear garden while large terraces on upper floors are arranged as roof gardens. Doubly oriented duplex apartments have large openings that allow good ventilation and convenient exposure to sunlight as well as an unobstructed view of adjacent natural vegetation.
The architectural concept developed by the authors stems from genuine normality and wise, attentive, and balanced lecture of the site character and of its particular potential.
