FRPO | RODRIGUEZ & ORIOLARCHITECTS

The Oslo Region Suburban Prototype [ORSP] is the typological proposal to this architectural challenge: a medium-high density node, with a combined used of specific attractor programs, residential units, and local retail and community services; with a double level public space and well connected to the existing infrastructural network. This new typology will generate urban community life out of a proper density, updating the needed uses in residential suburban cores turning them into metropolitan activity nodes.

The ORSP presents a double scale. On one side, its size is related to a metropolitan scale, to those metropolitan programmatic attractors already detected: museum complexes, recreational parks, technological centres, light industrial cores... On the other side, its volume resembles the already known local housing typologies: Metropolitan size and programs + Local suburban image. This way we assure the response to a regional network without losing the local awareness.
