It is a housing complex is located in a good location convenience of walking distance from the terminal station of the city. The second grade river flows through the north side of the site, inner city and downtown of the city on the south side. It is a typical Japanese apartment complex with a shared corridor on the north, balcony on the south side. Because there is a river in spite of an inner city, it is the opening-like common use corridor which can overlook the mountain range of the penumbra of the city. Is being used as a residence now, but in the case of the changes of the future family, provided space available for a multi-purpose. Since it is located in urban areas, such as kitchen, bathroom, wash is settled into compact, it is a possible configuration to use studio or office not only housing.

The big "door wall" which runs through the whole this space becomes the door-formed wall which held a housing part and a bookshelf and an air-conditioner. The ceiling showed an existing skeleton, the beam are painting on an existing skeleton, the housing boundary wall are painting in a smooth aspect, the floor are flooring, "door wall" are plywood. The reason why I separate a beam and "door wall" and provided indirect lighting for the gap is that I raise the autonomy more.

By the reason of 4 hours of sunshine winter solstice day by public housing law defined after the war, Japanese apartment complex are still deep-rooted illusions that obtained a certain level of comfort if you ensure even sunshine and south worship. Also in this apartment field of view is not open to the river side a panoramic view in order to have priority south side balcony. Originally it was typical 3LDK(3 room and Living, Dining, Kitchen) plan of the middle corridor type. In this plan, by the instal the living and dining space of elongated one room from an entrance to a balcony, it is a comfortable living space of the vertical passing through the wind and the light from north to south.
