The Child Care Unit for the PMI at Lausanne holds 120 children for four different age groups (new-borns, babies, toddlers, and youngsters). The day-care is located on a sloped terrain, which offers a variety of gardens with a continuation of life spaces and the park of the main PMI building. The façade, composed of a chequered pattern of glass and coloured aluminium, induces the joyous character of the building’s function. The openings offer both a view of the sky and a lower window with a view of the surrounding nature.
