Bio Energy House . Dhaka

I K studio

We are developing an integrated bioenergy system and building enclosure to be made available to people living in rural or remote parts of Bangladesh to generate their own power. Below grade is the biodigester. Cattle would be on the ground floor of this two storey building. Using a Stirling engine, methane gas from the biomass would be converted into readily available power. In the second floor, villages would be able to open schools, health clinics, homes, or businesses. The Bio Energy House is a self-sustaining shelter that is now being prototyped and soon to be produced as a modular system. This system is conceived as a kit of standardized parts. The hyperbolic paraboloid roof is made of thin-shell concrete panels on a precast post and beam frame.
