There are two plots given for the project – Study Area “A” Architectural Design and Study Area “B” Urban Layout. One of the main design goals was to make them harmonize with each other. That’s why we thought about relationship between the new volumes, taking into consideration both design areas. There are 2 buildings on Study Area “B” – hotel and apartments. Both are four stories high.

Positioned at the interface between city and university centre two new compact solitaires establish an independent scale and spatial structure within their heterogonous proximity. The outspoken vertical and horizontal gesture of the volumes results in an iconographic complex, whose presence goes far beyond the immediate context. In addition the reciprocal prelude of both city and campus is labelled and rises to the occasion. As yet the functional aesthetic of the seventies left its mark on the character of the entire campus. Accordingly the infrastructure of the public space is more subject to rational than to atmospheric principals.

The office building is located within 'Campus Audiovisual', a part of the regenerated 19th century industrial area of Poblenou, fronting a southern section of the Diagonal and close to the boundary of the Eixample and Sant Martí areas of the city of Barcelona. The site occupies approximately one quarter of an urban block within Idefons Cerdà's masterplan. Simple and bold sculptural forms have been carved out of the given project boundaries.

du Quebec will be built suggests a unique opportunity to plan the
transformation of a cultural ensemble that has been created by the
addition of different pieces over time. Following this thread, the
question arises: how to add a new building that means something more
than just a solution to a functional problem, and how to conceive an
architectural project that harmonizes the museum,s connection with
the park and the memory of the former monastery buildings?

Roofs are underused in New York City. Garden City Roofs, a startup company catering to a growing need for technical expertise and access to green roof systems, is converting the unused roof of a large industrial building into a showroom and knowledge-center for green roof systems. SO – IL has been asked to evaluate access, device an allotment system for the various roof systems and design a sales- and learning center. The factory building - once home to the production of typewriter ribbons and currently housing a gym and billiards hall - is located along the train tracks in Sunnyside Gardens, Queens under a la Guardia airstrip.

Miralles Tagliabue EMBT is bulding the Spanish pavilion for the universal exhibition of Shanghai in 2010.
The building, with an area of 8000 meters, is inspired on wicker baskets. Its façades will be covered by this material which is present both in spanish and chinese traditional arts & crafts.

This project is an bio-compatible mobile house, characterized by still structure with envelope in plastic transparent panels (1,2mm depth). The “tray” system of the envelope allow the placement of the thin earth layer (3 cm) blocked by still grate. Over the envelope we think to put rolled lawn system (60 cm x 3,00 m).
The trapezoidal shape allows a good water drainage system and to hold the lawn over the structure. The rolled lawn represents a good insulating material system and very good natural integration with the landscape.
