A Escola de Severim de Faria localiza-se na Estrada das Alcáçovas, em Évora, ocupando uma plataforma sobreelevada relativamente a esta antiga via de saída da cidade. Pertencendo ao grupo de escolas construídas de 1936 até 1968, com uma definição construtiva, formal e estilística específica e um sistema funcional claro, o edifício é constituído por dois corpos simétricos em torno de dois pátios, com um núcleo central.
O piso superior constitui-se como corpo recuado, organizado em torno de terraços e destinado a dormitório do antigo colégio, tendo-se mantido parcialmente como residência autónoma, até à actualidade.

The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, located in downtown Santiago, Chile has just received an expansion of 70% that has allowed it to increase display areas, storage space and its conservation laboratories. Due to an investment of $17 million and a long-term alliance between BHP Billiton and Minera Escondida, the Museum was able to renew its facilities and open its doors to the public this month after 2 years of construction. Among the highlights of the expansion is a 450 square meter showroom designed by Smiljan Radic, which will house a new permanent exhibit.

The Junko Fukutake Hall opened on the Shikata Campus of Okayama University on November 10. The J Hall was designed by SANAA. The open-style hall paneled in glass with a white aspect has prominent overhanging eaves that create an intermediate space extending in four directions between the building interior and exterior.

A film work shown at cinematic scale, Provenance (2013) circles around the global trade in furniture from the Indian city of Chandigarh. Conceived in the 1950s by architects Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, Chandigarh’s controversial modernist architecture includes original pieces of furniture—tables, chairs, settees, desks—created specifically for the building’s interiors. Recently these pieces have appeared at auction houses around the world, commanding record prices.

I asked architects to send me important images that show the basis of their work. Images that are in their head when they think. Images that show the origin of their architecture. In this book we find 44 individual "musées imaginaires". The most unique architects living today each present up to 10 images to explain the autobiographical roots of their oeuvre. The images are explanations, metaphors, foundations, memories and intentions. They are poetic and philosophical avowals.

A manufacturer of electronic security systems wanted a “unique and bioclimatic” building for its new headquarters in Alcalá de Henares northeast of Madrid. Alarcon Asociados came up with a design in which (expressive) form and (climatic) function work hand in hand. That the client is also the owner of the building might explain their boldness in endorsing such an unconventional design.

The primary school is situated at Arnulfpark - a new quarter with about 1000 family housing units - that was developed on former central railway areas in Munich. The one- to two-story building forms a spatial ending of the city-parcel to the south and gets rhythmend by roof terraces, which are cut in the upper floor.

"En esta casa los elementos se presenten a escala más bien pequeña conformando módulos o artefactos que dividen el recinto". El concepto de esta casa, de aproximadamente 270 m2, se basa en pequeños cuerpos que se ensamblan conformando una unidad. Constructed as both a hyperbolic critique of Edmund De Waal’s "The Hare with the Amber Eyes" (2010), in which the British ceramicist tells the story of his family's collection of Japanese Netsuke (17th-century miniature sculptures), the only remaining elements of his family's fortune -at one point rivaling the Rothschilds- that was lost in the Second World War and as a souvenir of the revival performance of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, which marked the opening of the Vienna Staatsoper in 1869, the exhibition continues the artist’s interest in the queer affinities between registers of design, mechanisms of display and autonomous politics.

The town of Marly is a relevant evidence of urban development possibilities characteristic of many middle-sized centers in Switzerland. Dancing density project for Marly provides both an ad hoc solution as well as a methodology applicable to similar sites. Aim of the project is precisely finding a solution to the present situation, and at the same time promoting a sustainable city planning in the long-term.
