Standing on an edge and entering a soul: visitors entering this long centre should not feel they are entering a building, but rather a soul, in the sense of the flow-progression of a sites's treatment: the Cartagena harbour. Everything here belongs to it: the immaculate straight line of the coastal shelf ( line ), the invariably calm sea (plane), the artificially horizontal plane of the wharf (plane), the sky as a variable background for this plane (plane over plane?); all based on an artifice that represents the greatest simplicity (plane), what is most natural (plane). Artifice and natural. However, this centre is by no means a representation of the spirit of all this artifice, but rather an epiphenomenon of it, something utterly different in spite of taking up everything that exists (plane). It is not a harbour shin. Its bones are not harbour bones, nor even its organs. It bears no resemblance at all to the child it has borne, born from an edge. Having decided the placement of the construction on the site, it is immediate, almost spontaneous: like a liquid mass poured into a much bigger mould. The continuous width of the body is established by the necessary width of the head, the main hall. Its longitudinal dimension is produced by a clean accumulation of the various functions described in the conference centre brief, differentiated by colours and totalling 210 meters in length.

The renovation of this small terraced house, along one of the ‘Reien’ in the historical heart of Bruges, consists of reinterpreting the typical cramped back buildings as a spacious and generously lit winter garden. The doubleheight space, entirely covered in timber planks, starts off as an arch which gradually lifts asymmetrically towards the back, framing the tall tree of a neighboring garden.
The old house is entirely renovated with partly new flooring and new colour schemes for façade, walls and ceilings. The custom made kitchen furniture with integrated fi re place doubles as working area, becoming the new center of the house.

Torre David, a 45-story office tower in Caracas designed by the distinguished Venezuelan architect Enrique Gómez, was almost complete when it was abandoned following the death of its developer, David Brillembourg, in 1993 and the collapse of the Venezuelan economy in 1994.

La vivienda se sitúa dentro de un solar rectangular con una restrictiva normativa: rectángulo 8.6 x 10.5 < 180 m2 totales.
El mecanismo usado de aberturas en esquina y un continuo juego de vacíos y  llenos otorga a la vivienda una sensación de “no escala”.
En planta baja, dos muebles (almacén-cocina y escalera) articulan el espacio en diagonal sin cerramientos.
En planta primera, la escalera divide dos espacios que se relacionan con dos de los vacíos; uno con la terraza norte y la otra con el doble espacio del estar.

El doble espacio relaciona ambas cotas, a la vez que actúa como gran lucernario a norte.
Visuales en diagonal y recorridos continuos alrededor de los espacios de almacenaje, aumentan la sensación de dimensión del espacio real.
Para las fachadas se decide trabajar con un acabado blanco con cierta textura en la piel exterior, y con un acabado liso que produce reflexión en los vacíos.
El porche se inclina en planta y sección, para acentuar la perspectiva. Y junto al porche, una pequeña abertura de baja altura dirige nuestras miradas al jardín, evitando una visión frontal con la gasolinera próxima y ayudando a la percepción de “no escala” desde el exterior.

Yongsan Dream Hub corporation presented today the MVRDV designed residential development of the Yongsan Business district: two connected luxury residential high-rises.  A 260 meter tall tower and a 300 meter tall tower are connected in the centre by a pixelated cloud of additional program offering amenities and outside spaces with wide views. The towers with a total surface of 128,000m2 are expected to be completed in 2015.

Upon its Grand Opening September 4, 2011, the « Stadium du Littoral » constructed in Grande Synthe is the first facility north of Paris integrating five athletic disciplines under one roof.
Designed by OLGGA Architectes, this athletic complex includes stadium seating for 617, two club houses, locker rooms, a community recreation room and administrative offices.
This « Stadium du Littoral », provided for town’s 4000 members, also has three rugby fields, two football fields, an archery round, a running track, a 1300m cycling ring, and soon-to-be-completed BMX track.
Built on 12 hectares in the Basroch neighborhood, the building is indeed a visible architectural beacon, marking the major vehicular (interstate) entrance into the city. This pared-down building with program-induced volumes stands up against the horizon, this skyline of shadows reveals the omnipresent nature of the landscape.
The project was elaborated from a simple parallelogram monolith, responsive to the specific technical requirements established by the client.
This compact form is “hollowed out” in key places to accommodate bleachers and club houses. These excavations respond to the desire for highvisibility manifest in each sport. The stadium is not mono oriented toward a specific field, rather it opens itself onto all athletics in their collective.

La propuesta pretende aprovechar toda la superficie ocupable de la parcela para poder construir la vivienda en una sola planta (baja). Esto comporta que la casa, en planta, sea un triángulo  paralelo a los límites del solar, minimizando los espacios de circulación con un único distribuidor central, reduciendo el coste y permitiendo una relación constante entre el interior y el exterior. Dada la diferencia de cota entre el solar y la calle, situada a un nivel más elevado, la cubierta  triangular, casi un icono, se convierte en la cuarta fachada de la casa. Durante la redacción del proyecto el presupuesto sufrió un recorte del 50%. Esto condicionó fuertemente todas las decisiones de la construcción: sistemas, materiales, etc. eliminando todo lo superfluo e innecesario y confiriendo a la casa una materialidad extremadamente austera, contundente y muy expresiva, por dentro y por fuera.

Due to the absence of fences, the hexagonal shape of the plot is not clear and the ground blends with the surrounding pinewoods. The house occupies the maximal area of construction, concentric to the six-sided plot. Disposed round a courtyard to which every space converges, its peculiar form finds a precise boundary in the outline of a canopy. Service areas provide geometry and stability to the main spaces.

L'edificio si inserisce al margine orientale della borgata Bach, ne definisce il limite oltre al quale si apre il grande salto di quota verso ovest. Da un lato il rapporto con la scala misurata del borgo, dall'altro la relazione con la valle e con le catene montuose che fanno da scenario poderoso all´intervento. Il nuovo complesso è un sistema formato da tre architetture simili generate dalla stessa tipologia, dallo stesso modulo, tre architetture contemporanee e silenziose, sedute sulla topografia in maniera naturale. Gli edifici sono compatti in modo da dare continuitá al tipico tessuto urbano della borgata sfruttando il salto di quota nord/sud per incassare parzialmente diverse funzioni. La lirica del progetto è semplice ed austera, fatta di corpi di fabbrica sererni, ben proporzionati e rigorosi. Un piccolo borgo nel borgo che assorbe e ripete il fascino della migliore tradizione costruttiva Alpina, fatto di sapienza e misura, di continuitá e silenzio. Il progetto trova in queste suggestioni la sua massima espressione: un` architettura contemporanea che sa diventare parte del paesaggio, dare continuitá allo sfondo teatrale dei monti, diventare una pre-esistenza familiare per la borgata.

La vivienda se ubica en una parcela en pendiente de 1216m2 dentro del término municipal de Pedrezuela, a 45 km al norte de Madrid. Cuenta con escasa vegetación en la parte más próxima a la calle y, sin embargo, domina las vistas sobre un amplio paisaje natural, abierto y frondoso.

Siete módulos de madera estructural de idéntica geometría se ordenan en torno a un patio, ensamblándose entre si mediante espacios de conexión que dotan de heterogeneidad al conjunto. Cada módulo se especializa en distintas situaciones domésticas, de acuerdo a las necesidades funcionales. La organización modular permite alterar esta lógica funcional sirviendo de soporte a posibles futuras disposiciones.
