the contest proposed the design of a resting place for the pilgrims of santiago de compostela. being a contest sponsored by a company of plasterboard, was one of the assumptions that the project would consist of a modulated structure of the material. the project concept is based on the inversion of this principle: instead of a modulated structure it was proposed a module that could be loosely structured. 432 45cm cubes would be distributed by the site allowing each person to form numerous solutions. taking advantage of the abstract white plastic effect the result would be a contrast with the place. the intention of the proposal was that there would be a constant transformation, always changing according to the needs and desires of those who visited the place. in addition to the modules was also proposed a coverage. the site hardly possessed any trees and was mostly used in summer, so the need for shadow became evident. interpreting an abstract idea of woods, it was proposed a structure in chrome steel, whose form came from the shell of santiago and ended up on the figure of an unending route. the material provided reflections of the sky and the grass. this structure would house the pilgrims, holding on just on fine pillars. the entire space would be in a permanent change of shapes and reflections. the white cubes would bring a new identity full of dinamism to the place.

this is a literal copy of sanaa's serpentine gallery including some fujimoto's cubes... where's the originality?
