The challenge consisted of designing a 100 meters tower for the Fashion Museum. The space would have to represent the history of 20th century fashion and become a reference for the city. The area of the project is the Omotesando street, where the most famous and prestigious houses of haute couture are located, in buildings designed by the best architects of the World.
The building’s project presents a journey along fashion history by ramps surrounding the main body. The ramps would function as a historical introduction and the floors would be the exhibition spaces of the garments and accessories.
There are 4 exceptions to this line of thought: the lower floors, containing the services’ areas; the third floor, which has an open-space with view to the Omotesando street; the fourth floor (where the exhibition path is initiated), which has a catwalk, a body projected over the road; and the last floor, with the sky bar, that is also a garden.
All floors have, at least, a double height.
